Healthy Marin Partnership (HMP) is a multi-sector, multidisciplinary collaboration working to improve health and advance health equity in Marin County, California. Formed in 1995, it brings together hospitals, Marin County Health and Human Services, the United Way, education and community organizations, foundations, businesses, and other partners. HMP serves as a convener, helping local communities, agencies, organizations, and policymakers coordinate efforts toward shared health goals.
The partnership’s vision is for everyone who lives, learns, and works in Marin to experience lifelong health. Its work recognizes that fair opportunities for health require addressing social and structural factors, including the effects of racism on physical and mental health.
HMP coordinates a triennial Community Health Needs Assessment, which evaluates residents’ health and identifies priorities for improvement. It also supports Community Health Improvement Plans that align programs, resources, and measurable actions across the county. Through its Healthcare Workforce Development Initiative, HMP promotes equitable training, inclusive hiring, and retention to expand local access to healthcare careers and strengthen the capacity of hospitals and clinics.
