Heartland for Children (HFC) is a dedicated community-based care agency focused on improving the welfare of children and families in Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties. Founded in 2003, HFC works tirelessly to eliminate child abuse and neglect by promoting safety, stability, and well-being for local youth. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including protective services, foster care, adoption, and family preservation programs.

HFC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion informs their approach to creating nurturing environments for every child and family they serve. They engage in innovative strategies and maintain strong partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of their programs. In addition to direct support services, HFC offers resources and support for adoptive and foster parents, relative caregivers, and transition-age youth, ensuring that all families have the tools they need to thrive. Through their ongoing initiatives, Heartland for Children aims to transform the child welfare system and foster a brighter future for the communities they serve.
