Heartland Research Group (HRG) is a dedicated grassroots organization committed to exploring the historical narrative of the Book of Mormon in North America. It engages in hands-on archaeological research, acquisition, restoration, and exhibition of ancient American artifacts. One of its premier initiatives is the construction of an ancient ship replica named Phoenicia, based on a shipwreck from 600 BC.
This ship has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of long-distance ancient voyages, having sailed from the Middle East to Florida. As a 501c3 non-profit, HRG is focused on raising funds to support archaeological endeavors and to create a museum in Zarahemla, Iowa, which will showcase the Phoenicia ship along with numerous artifacts and exhibits. The organization relies on volunteers and donors to sustain its ambitious projects, and it invites public support to realize its vision.
Through various expeditions and research activities, HRG aims to shed light on ancient cultures and their significance in American history
