Saskia de Koning is an independent midwife based in Engstingen on the Swabian Alb, serving families in the Reutlingen area and, by arrangement, across a wider region of southern Germany. Practising since 2002, she offers experienced, personal support throughout pregnancy, home birth, the postpartum period and a baby’s first year. Her services include individual pregnancy consultations, preparation and care for self-directed home births, postpartum visits, breastfeeding support, and guidance on newborn care, feeding, sleep, development and health.

Before a home birth, she discusses expectations, assesses individual circumstances and explains alternatives, including when a transfer to hospital may be advisable. Her care also draws on additional training, a holistic perspective and experience working as a midwife in Zambia and Tamil Nadu. She speaks German, English, French and Dutch, and offers an initial, non-binding conversation for families considering her support.
