Hebocon Denmark brings the delightfully unpredictable world of “crappy robots” to workshops, tournaments, festivals, parties, and other events. Inspired by Hebocon, which began in Japan, the Danish organizers have hosted robot-building activities and competitions since 2016. The concept welcomes people who lack technical skills as well as anyone looking for a creative challenge: no engineering experience is required to take part.
Participants build imaginative, lovable machines using simple materials such as discarded items, batteries, and glue. The robots may break, refuse to move, wander out of the ring, or fall apart before a contest begins—and that is all part of the fun. In the tournament, makers put their creations into battle and compete for the title of Most Crappy Robot, celebrating inventive failures rather than polished engineering.
Hebocon Denmark offers workshops and tournaments for events, making hands-on robot-making accessible and entertaining for a broad range of participants. Event organizers can contact the team to discuss bringing a Hebocon experience to their own gathering.
