Hectar

Hectar is a French ecosystem focused on entrepreneurship, innovation and the human side of agriculture. Based in Lévis-Saint-Nom in the Yvelines, it works to accelerate agriculture’s social and economic transition toward regenerative practices. Its approach combines practical experimentation, technology and education to support a sector that is economically viable, socially fair and more sustainable for the planet.

At its pilot farm, spanning more than 300 hectares, Hectar experiments with regenerative agriculture, new ways of organizing farm work and technologies designed to address farms’ economic, social and environmental challenges. It also helps startups test solutions in real-world conditions and runs tailored entrepreneurship and leadership programs for farmers and agricultural project leaders. These programs draw on a network of more than 550 farmer and expert mentors; Hectar’s training organization is Qualiopi-certified.

For businesses and public-sector groups, Hectar offers seminars and immersive learning expeditions focused on agricultural transition and responsible value chains. It also provides educational activities for young people and students, introducing agricultural and food-system issues from field to plate.
