About Hoosier Environmental Council
HEC, or the Hoosier Environmental Council, is an organization dedicated to improving and protecting the environment in Indiana. With a strong focus on sustainability and environmental justice, HEC works to reduce barriers to sustainable energy use, combat pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from factory farms, strengthen drinking water protections, and safeguard wilderness areas. They advocate for a sustainable economy, sustainable energy, sustainable transportation, climate action, democracy reform, environmental health and justice, and much more.
HEC collaborates with lawmakers, public interest groups, and business organizations to effect positive change in Indiana. They offer opportunities for people to get involved through financial contributions, volunteering, and attending events. HEC also provides technical assistance and serves as an expert resource on environmental issues in Indiana.
