Heemhuis Ootmarsum is a local heritage association dedicated to documenting and sharing the history of Ootmarsum and its residents. Formed through the объединing of the Vereniging Heemkunde Ootmarsum and the Ben Morshuis Stichting, it brings together members in specialist working groups who contribute their knowledge and research to the community.

The association’s work spans archaeology, historical photography and family history. Its photo group manages part of an archive of approximately 75,000 images, while researchers connect family trees with historic addresses, census records and photographs. The resulting collection links residents with the homes they lived in, enabling visitors to explore Ootmarsum’s past through a virtual historical walk. The association also offers searchable resources covering people, addresses, stories, books and memorial cards, and helps members develop their own family trees.

Heemhuis Ootmarsum shares research and updates through its website, publications, news and events. It welcomes visitors to its heritage house and invites supporters to contribute as donors, helping sustain its preservation and research activities.
