The Heerlense Highland Games is an annual sporting and cultural event organized by Stichting Limburgse Highland Games in Heerlen, the Netherlands. Held at Bekkerveld, the event brings together athletic competition, Scottish traditions, live entertainment, and activities for visitors. Its 2026 programme is scheduled for 29 and 30 May.
The first day features a team competition for groups of six to eight participants aged 18 and over. Teams test their strength, teamwork, and tactics in Highland Games events, with participation open to newcomers as well as experienced competitors. On the second day, Highland Games athletes from the Benelux compete for the Dutch and Belgian championships, offering spectators a showcase of strength and skill.
Beyond the sporting programme, visitors can enjoy market stalls, food and drink, live music, and activities for children. The event is presented as a welcoming outing for families, fans of Scottish culture, and anyone seeking a distinctive local experience. Admission for visitors is free.
