Heidberg-Farm

Heidberg-Farm is a family-run horse pension and senior-care residence in Stohl, near the Baltic Sea in Germany. Founded by Jeannine and Nis-Hinrich Wittern, the farm provides older horses and ponies with attentive, individualized care and a comfortable place to spend their later years. The idea grew from the owners’ experience caring for their own horse and other retired horses, and the farm has since adapted its facilities to accommodate pension horses.

Accommodation includes 4-by-4-metre boxes in an outdoor-climate stable, with easy-to-clean feeding troughs and frost-protected float-valve waterers. Horses go out daily on year-round paddocks, with separate turnout available for horses with laminitis, and are kept in a stable herd. Services include individual feeding, up to four meals a day, medication as directed by owners and veterinarians, holiday care, veterinary and farrier appointments, and help with blanketing. The farm also offers steamed haylage for horses with respiratory conditions and a leading service for horses needing additional exercise. Its owners welcome visitors and enquiries.
