The Heifetz International Music Institute is a music education and performance organization based in Staunton, Virginia. It trains exceptional young musicians, with a particular focus on string players, helping them develop as artists and communicators. Its flagship offering is a six-week summer program that combines instruction, lessons, coachings, chamber music collaborations, and performance and communication training. The institute also provides resources in practice techniques and behavioral analytics, and presents the Heifetz Ensemble in Residence.

For audiences, Heifetz offers concerts and events throughout the year, including its summer Festival of Concerts. The 2026 festival marks the institute’s 30th anniversary season and is scheduled to feature more than 50 performances by students, faculty, and special guests. The organization extends its reach through Rubato, its virtual concert hall, live streams, videos, and other multimedia. It also supports alumni and touring artists and operates a music shop, rentals, box office, and gift shop in Staunton. Donations and scholarship support help sustain its educational and artistic work.
