Heimatverein Oesig e.V. is a community association serving Oesig, a small district of Blankenburg in the Harz region of Germany. Its aim is to strengthen local ties and help preserve Oesig as a welcoming place to live. The association brings residents together through monthly social evenings, shared outings and community events, with friends and acquaintances also welcome at many gatherings.
Its activities cater to different ages and interests. Sports and recreation include beginner yoga, children’s yoga, children’s sports, table tennis and dance fitness, offering opportunities to enjoy movement and build connections. The association also organizes an annual Easter bonfire, a multigenerational Oesigfest with children’s activities, music, food and drinks, and a seasonal autumn bonfire.
The association’s clubhouse, the Alte Schule on Am Lindenberg, serves as a local gathering place. With support from LEADER funding and its own contribution, the club recently arranged repairs to the building’s facade and refreshed its exterior. Through regular activities and celebrations, Heimatverein Oesig e.V. works to foster belonging and community spirit across the district.
