Hekima is a Slovak non-profit organization that promotes gender equality, equal opportunities, and fights poverty through entrepreneurship. Our name, derived from the Swahili word for "wisdom" or "knowledge," reflects our mission to support and engage women, girls, youth, and other underrepresented voices in society. Since 2019, we have been driven by the belief that Slovakia should be a source of pride, and that the world can benefit from the expertise and experience of Slovak leaders in addressing the challenges we all face.

At Hekima, we continue to grow through collaborations and partnerships at the local, regional, and international levels. We work with development agencies, reputable institutions, as well as government and business leaders to create opportunities for education, knowledge sharing, and network building that contribute to sustainable solutions.

Our work focuses on civil society, international development, social economy, and philanthropy, with a particular emphasis on empowering women, girls, youth, and marginalized groups. Through innovative educational programs at the secondary and tertiary levels, we enable young people to contribute their creativity and energy to a more inclusive, just, and compassionate society. We also provide training, technical assistance, and knowledge sharing in program and project management for initiatives in Slovakia and around the world.
