About Helen's Acres
Helen's Acres Community Farm is a non-profit organization located in Kelowna, BC, dedicated to growing produce for the community. As a primarily volunteer-run farm, their mission is to connect, educate, and feed the community. Through their community farm, they provide a space for individuals to come together and make a difference.
They also strive to educate the community on growing practices, including environmental initiatives and raising awareness of food insecurity. Their ultimate goal is to feed those in need, ensuring equal access to nutritious food. This project started in 2015 when the land was donated by Gordon and Helen Ziglar, who had a vision for food security.
