Helen's Place

Helen’s Place is the specialist practice of Dr Helen Ross, a qualified dyslexia and dyscalculia assessor, researcher and consultant based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. Working with families, schools and organisations across the UK and internationally, Dr Ross combines professional expertise with a warm, clear approach. Her practice provides diagnostic assessments for children, teenagers and adults, exploring dyslexia and dyscalculia together for one fee. Assessments take place in person in Trowbridge and include a comprehensive report designed to be useful to families and schools. Specialist tutoring is also available.

For schools and local authorities, Helen’s Place offers practical, research-grounded training and bespoke professional development on dyslexia, dyscalculia and special educational needs and disabilities. The practice also undertakes qualitative research, product and market consultancy, and expert witness work. Additional resources include books, guides, courses and speaking engagements, including a self-paced course on supporting pupils with special educational needs in mainstream classrooms. Dr Ross is an internationally recognised researcher, a Churchill Fellow, and the author of peer-reviewed publications and Literacy Learning Journeys.
