Helga Hele Uka is a volunteer-run student festival and association connected to the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Oslo. The tradition began in 2013, when students at Helga Eng’s House decided to create a week that felt like a weekend. Since then, the festival has offered students an engaging break alongside their studies in Oslo.
Its program brings together subject-focused talks and live music, combining academic interests with social and cultural experiences. Festival activities are organized by a student board, which is selected once a year, with new volunteers from the University of Oslo’s Faculty of Educational Sciences welcomed on an ongoing basis. The festival also invites students to get involved in creating its events and community.
Helga Hele Uka shares announcements and updates through Facebook and Instagram. Its website provides information about the program, the association’s board, and previous festivals, as well as contact details for inquiries and collaboration.
