Helicopter Flight Training Center

The Helicopter Flight Training Center is a Shreveport, Louisiana-based facility providing specialized training for helicopter pilots and air medical communication professionals. Its modern training environment features flight simulators certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and Transport Canada, supported by a team that helps customers develop training plans suited to their missions.

Pilot training uses a range of certified, night-vision-goggle-equipped devices: a Frasca Level 7 Bell 407/GX Flight Training Device, a FlightSafety International Airbus AS350 B2 Level 6 device, and FlightSafety EC135 and EC145 Level D full-motion simulators. These resources support helicopter flight training across multiple aircraft types.

For communication specialists, the center’s CommLab delivers scenario-based training and evaluation through a partnership with Flight Vector, Golden Hour, HSI, Xybix, and Zoll. Exercises include inter-facility and scene transfers, bird strikes, neonatal transfers, and requests involving multiple aircraft. The center offers information and quotes for organizations seeking training solutions, bringing pilot and communicator preparation together in one dedicated facility.
