Hellefossen

Østsiden Jeger- og Fiskerforening manages fishing in the Drammenselva below Hellefossen, extending to the municipal boundary with Drammen, on behalf of Hellefossen Elveeierlag. The association supports local hunting and fishing and organizes activities and events throughout the year. Its website provides practical information and services for anglers, including fishing permit purchases, catch registration, a salmon catch report, and details about fishing conditions and river management.

Visitors can also find information about accommodation at Fiskebua and activities connected with the area. The association operates Hellefoss Villakssenter, a salmon visitor centre located at Haugsundgata 51, next to Tingstua and Arbeider’n; it is open on weekends during the summer season. The centre includes a salmon museum at Nøstetangensenteret.

The site also shares updates on conservation work, including efforts to combat Gyrodactylus salaris in the Drammens region, and communicates safety guidance for river users. Together, these offerings connect salmon fishing, local recreation, education, and the stewardship of the river and its fish
