Helmer Grundström

Helmer Grundström-sällskapet is a literary society based in Svanabyn, Sweden, dedicated to encouraging the study of poet and writer Helmer Grundström, his life, and the historical settings that shaped his work. The society presents information about Grundström, who lived from 1904 to 1986 and grew up in a large family on a small tenant farm in Dorotea. Recognised as the first writer from Västerbotten to achieve national literary importance, he brought the experiences and landscapes of inland Norrland into Swedish poetry.

The site offers a selection of his poems, including the complete 120-poem anthology Det är nog, along with other texts, a bibliography, photographs, links, and information about copyright. It also provides biographical material and resources on his writing and background. Grundström’s works include the poetry collection Detta är mitt land and the short-story collection Trähjärtat; his concise, unsentimental style has inspired musicians and troubadours to set his poems to music
