Helping Hoof

Helping Hoof is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization offering equine-assisted therapeutic activities and opportunities for growth and learning. It supports people with developmental, physical, emotional, and mental challenges through facilitated interactions with horses and donkeys. No prior experience with equines is needed; the organization emphasizes respectful, caring relationships between people and animals as a foundation for healing and personal development.

Helping Hoof’s programs include Horsing Around, focused on behavioral intervention; Homework Horse, which provides equine-assisted tutoring; and Leg Up, offering adjunct or companion activities to therapy. Horsepower supports personal development, while Pasture Time provides respite care support. Together, these sessions are designed to encourage life-enhancing experiences and learning.

The organization is based in the Sierra Foothills near Clovis and Fresno, California. It is setting up a new location and, according to its website, is not currently offering in-person sessions. Helping Hoof also invites community support through donations and volunteering, and provides contact options by phone, text, and email.
