H-N CrimeStoppers

Crime Stoppers of Haldimand & Norfolk is a non-profit charitable organization that brings community members, media and police together to help address crime in Haldimand and Norfolk, Ontario. Its civilian volunteer board raises and administers funds, arranges rewards for tipsters and promotes public participation. Through its Crime of the Week features, the organization shares information about unsolved crimes in newspapers, radio and television, encouraging people to come forward with relevant information.

The organization accepts anonymous tips by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS and through its online tip submission service, with a follow-up option for tipsters. It emphasizes that Crime Stoppers is independent of the police and is not an emergency service; emergencies should be reported directly to police. Its initiatives include targeted reward offers for information about fentanyl trafficking and significant seizures, as well as Student Crime Stoppers, which engages young people in community safety. The organization also supports local involvement through fundraising and appreciation events, a community service bursary, and opportunities to volunteer on its board.
