Hemel en Aardewerk

Hemel en Aardewerk is a garden studio and distinctive shop in The Hague, set beside a permaculture garden and inspired by nature, mindful living and creativity. The welcoming space offers an oasis of calm within the city, with a weekly open-shop afternoon every Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m.; visits at other times can be arranged by appointment.

The shop stocks herbs, spices and culinary salts, along with supplies for a natural home pharmacy, eco-friendly cleaning and food preservation. Visitors can also browse colourful, imaginative ceramics. In the studio, Hemel en Aardewerk runs courses and workshops for practical skills and creative exploration. Topics include hand-built ceramics, nature-friendly garden design, fermentation, preserving and making herbal remedies. Sessions may take place indoors or outdoors, depending on the season, and some are available as private or small-group lessons. The programme also includes tailored options, ceramic workshops and gift vouchers. Hemel en Aardewerk brings together useful knowledge, hands-on making and a nature-led approach, inviting visitors to learn, create and discover thoughtful products in a personal setting.
