Hemmant Equine

Hemmant Equine Agistment Riding & Therapy (H.E.A.R.T) is a registered charity and community-based organisation in Hemmant, about 10 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD. It uses horse-assisted activities to support the physical, emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing of young people and people of all ages and abilities. Its programs include health-focused Horse Assisted Learning, equine-assisted therapy, riding and horsemanship activities, offering affordable and inclusive ways to learn and connect with horses.

H.E.A.R.T also provides supervised volunteer and peer mentoring opportunities, particularly for young people, where participants can share skills and take part in meaningful activities. The organisation aims to nurture respect for horses and encourage a holistic approach to learning about horsemanship. Its broader work focuses on strengthening relationships, supporting families, improving the wellbeing of children and young people, and including vulnerable people through connection with horses.

Based at 105 Ragnor Road, Hemmant, H.E.A.R.T welcomes community involvement and feedback. Its programs bring a taste of rural life close to Brisbane while fostering connection, learning and wellbeing.
