HERA Laboratory Planners, formally Health, Education and Research Associates, Inc., is an architecture and laboratory-planning firm founded in 1996. Its mission is to enhance scientific discovery and client productivity by creating optimal laboratory environments. Combining architectural expertise with specialized knowledge of laboratory planning and design, HERA helps clients and partner firms develop spaces that meet operational needs and support future growth.

The firm serves five primary markets: academic, clinical, forensic, government and research and development. Its work includes STEM buildings, teaching and research laboratories, clinical specimen-processing facilities, forensic laboratories, government research and testing facilities, vivariums, and corporate R&D environments. HERA provides services such as laboratory programming, architecture, MEP design, process mapping and 3D visualization.

Its Crime Lab Design practice is recognized for forensic laboratory programming and design, delivered with Harley Ellis Devereaux. HERA draws on experience spanning hundreds of projects and more than 26. 5 million square feet of laboratory space.
