About Herald
Herald is a Bittensor subnet, identified as Netuid 69, designed to make genuine mainstream-media coverage verifiable. It connects PR firms and professionals with a process for submitting draft copy, publishing it through real outlets, and recording the resulting article. Herald’s code-based verification system checks whether coverage is live, published within the relevant brief’s time window, present in search results, and consistent with the submitted draft. It also screens for sponsored content and other paid placements, using outlet-specific rules alongside common disclosure and URL checks.
The service supports funded client briefs, which specify the topic, coverage requirements, reward pool, and timeframe, as well as a standing brief for general Bittensor coverage. Articles are assessed against a signed, versioned outlet registry, with outlet tiers affecting their scoring. Validators recheck placements over a 30-day vesting period; rewards may be reduced or clawed back if coverage disappears or becomes paid content. Herald states that payouts are not yet live. Its public ledger is intended to document verified placements and their supporting evidence.
