HerArts Film Lab is an international development workshop supporting women’s and non-binary voices in cinema. Based at the 18th-century Azienda Seliano estate in Paestum, Campania, Italy, the residential program brings together screenwriters and writer-directors to develop fiction feature films and television series. It welcomes applicants from around the world with an established creative track record, and English is the workshop’s working language.
Each edition selects approximately eight to ten projects. Participants refine story ideas, scripts and treatments through group discussions, dedicated writing time and individual consultations with experienced mentors. The program also includes screenings, case studies, talks and conversations about cinema and storytelling, followed by an online session two to three months after the residency. Its supportive, collaborative setting encourages participants to exchange feedback and build connections with an international community of filmmakers.
The participation fee includes workshop activities, eight nights’ accommodation in a single room, meals and a transfer between Salerno and Paestum; travel expenses are not included.
