The Joint Programming Initiative on Cultural Heritage and Global Change (JPI CH) is a collaborative effort established in 2010 with support from the European Commission, uniting national research organizations, ministries, and research councils across Europe. JPI CH aims to address critical societal challenges related to cultural heritage, an integral part of individual and collective identities. The initiative focuses on both tangible heritage—such as archaeological artifacts, buildings, and landscapes—and intangible heritage, which includes traditional practices and knowledge.

JPI CH promotes a multidisciplinary approach to heritage science, combining insights from humanities, sciences, and engineering to enhance understanding and sustainable use of cultural assets. The initiative coordinates research efforts, organizes joint calls for innovative projects, and supports dissemination activities to raise awareness among stakeholders.
