Hermanus Aqua Kids

Hermanus Aqua Kids is a swimming school in Hermanus that provides a welcoming, purpose-designed environment for learning to swim. Its indoor pool is 7 by 3 metres, has a consistent depth, and is heated to between 30 and 34 degrees, allowing lessons to run throughout the year. The school offers private and group instruction, with groups limited to a maximum ratio of three students per instructor.

Lessons are available for children from seven months of age, as well as older children and adults. Programmes include Water Babies, Learn to Swim, Stroke Correction, advanced courses offered during school holidays, and Aqua Aerobics. Early classes help babies build a foundation for later swimming lessons, while stroke correction supports children who already know basic swimming techniques.

Instruction focuses on water safety and sound technique, while engaging activities help learners feel comfortable, confident, and enjoy the experience. Hermanus Aqua Kids also encourages families to participate, welcoming parents into the pool as children develop skills for a lifetime of water safety and enjoyment
