HER Resiliency Center is a nonprofit organization founded by Natasha Guynes, a student in the University of Baltimore's master's in public administration program. The center focuses on helping vulnerable young women overcome significant challenges in their lives. Natasha herself is a survivor of a traumatic childhood and has translated her hard-won knowledge into helping others.
The center aims to bring stability into the lives of these young women who are struggling with issues such as substance abuse, homelessness, and trauma. HER Resiliency Center treats these women as individuals, not cases, and has low barriers to entry - any woman between the ages of 18 and 25 can seek assistance from the center. Natasha and her staff also visit women in jail and provide support to those who want to heal from their time on the streets.
The center not only offers immediate help but also focuses on prevention to address the root causes of the problems these women face. Natasha is dedicated to expanding the center's reach beyond Washington, D. C., and hopes to create a replicable model in other cities.
With the support of a high-quality board of directors and her ongoing studies at UBalt, Natasha is working tirelessly to provide young women with a voice and the opportunity to thrive
