Heruditatem

Heruditatem is a Nancy-based nonprofit association recognized for its educational and cultural purpose, dedicated to sharing architectural culture and bringing architecture closer to the people who use and experience it. Responding to the fact that architecture is often little known to the public, the association helps children and communities discover the heritage and environments around them, with a focus on the Grand Est region. Its activities include school and after-school workshops, educational resource design, and public-awareness initiatives.

Through guided walks, observation exercises, games, model-making, maps, and creative projects, participants explore buildings, landscapes, local history, and both tangible and intangible heritage. Heruditatem works with schools, municipalities, cultural services, and community organizations to deliver projects tailored to different ages and places. Recent activities have included architectural model workshops, explorations of medieval castles and cathedrals, and projects examining water and territory.

Its playful, participatory, and itinerant approach encourages people to look at their surroundings in new ways, understand local heritage, and feel inspired to care for it
