HerzensEltern is a family guidance and education practice founded by Lena Rahn and Mirko Schenk in Dresden, Germany. The partners help parents develop a holistic, relationship-focused understanding of their children and build calmer, more peaceful family lives. Their approach emphasizes that children learn from adults’ example, and encourages parents to reflect on their own values, behavior, needs, and boundaries while responding to children with empathy and respect.

Lena and Mirko are parent advisers, guides, and trained leaders of KinderBesserVerstehen (KBV) courses. Their courses cover young children’s emotional development and the attitudes that support secure, relationship-oriented parenting. They also offer individual consultations by phone, Skype, or in person, including a free introductory conversation, as well as open KBV gatherings where parents can discuss everyday family challenges in a supportive setting. Drawing on their training in family guidance and, in Lena’s case, nonviolent communication, they help families turn recurring conflicts into opportunities for understanding and cooperation. HerzensEltern invites parents to learn, practice new approaches, and strengthen their relationships with their children.
