About Heta Asset Resolution
HETA Asset Resolution is a wind-down company owned by the Republic of Austria. Its primary objective is to effectively dispose of the non-performing assets of the Hypo Alpe Adria, which was nationalized in 2009, while preserving their value. Following the approval of the European Commission in September 2013, the Hypo-Sondergesetz was enacted in July 2014 by the Austrian National Council, leading to the establishment of HETA Asset Resolution.
The company was mandated to manage its assets with the goal of achieving an orderly, active, and optimal monetization process. It was not allowed to engage in deposit-taking activities or hold interests in credit institutions in compliance with EU regulations. The portfolio reduction was carried out according to a plan approved by the supervisory board, ensuring a swift execution.
In 2021, the portfolio reduction of HETA in accordance with § 84 Abs 10 BaSAG was completed.
