Gartenbau Hetjens KG is a family-run horticultural business in Geldern-Walbeck, Germany, founded in 1963 by Ina and Matthias Hetjens. Now led by the second generation, Bernd Hetjens, the company grows ornamental plants across greenhouse, polytunnel and outdoor production areas. Its product range includes Greenboys®, compact, hardy Hebe plants suited to containers, rock gardens and heath-style landscapes; Beauty Ladies®, winter-hardy Calluna heather with colourful, weather-resistant flower buds; and Magicolors Hebe, whose foliage and flowers change colour with the seasons.

Hetjens combines modern growing technology with a commitment to environmentally conscious production. Computer-controlled greenhouse climate and irrigation systems help manage energy and water use, while biological plant-strengthening methods, beneficial organisms and reduced chemical treatments support plant health. The company reports using substrates made with 60% peat-free natural materials, reducing liquid fertiliser use by up to 80%, and avoiding products harmful to bees. It also manages outdoor runoff through biologically active soil zones. Alongside its plants, Hetjens offers employment and training opportunities in ornamental horticulture.
