British Horror Studio is an independent British film studio rooted in cinema, theatre and the Romantic Gothic. Guided by a belief that British horror deserves greater ambition, it develops original films, cultivates screen talent and brings its work directly to audiences around the world. Its films span supernatural noir, psychological horror, found-footage horror and portmanteau storytelling, with titles including In the Grip of Terror, Black Chariot, Spoiling You and Mr Whispers.
The studio works with a repertory company of actors and filmmakers, including Megan Tremethick, Novarro Ramon, Dorian Todd and Liv Southard, and its creative team includes directors, writers and producers such as Lawrie Brewster and Sarah Daly. British Horror Studio offers films through cinema screenings and its BHS Picture House streaming service, as well as Blu-rays, downloads and other film editions. Audiences can also explore its shop, follow studio updates and support productions through Patreon.
Its publications include the free quarterly studio magazine, Amicus Horror and British Horror Chronicle, featuring essays, interviews and news about independent cinema and the arts
