HeyAttend started from a simple problem: The need to organize and share a developers event, and I couldn’t find one that felt right.

Most of the alternatives I tried were either too expensive, too complex, or both. They had long setup processes, features I would never use, and pricing that made sense for large companies but not for smaller events or independent organizers.

The other problem was customization. I wanted the registration experience to feel like part of my own brand, not like I was sending people to a completely different platform. Changing basic things was often surprisingly difficult.

As a developer, I kept thinking: this shouldn’t be so complicated.

So I started building what I wanted to use myself. Something simple to set up, easy to understand, completely free, and flexible enough to make each event feel personal. That became HeyAttend.

The goal wasn’t to create a platform with hundreds of features. It was to focus on the things that actually matter: creating an event, collecting registrations, sending notifications, and giving organizers control over how the experience looks and feels.

It’s the event tool I was looking for before I decided to build it.
