HeyBOOB is a Danish health education and support initiative that helps women feel more confident about breast self-awareness. Its free app guides users through a monthly self-examination with step-by-step videos, offers reminders, and explains what changes to look and feel for. A chatbot provides accessible information about breast health, while the anonymous Sisterhood community lets women share experiences and suggestions that may help others.
HeyBOOB encourages users to learn what is normal for their own bodies and seek medical advice about new, unexplained, or persistent changes. The app is a learning tool, not a way to detect or rule out breast cancer, and does not replace screening or professional care. Beyond the app, HeyBOOB arranges in-person events for workplaces, associations, and shopping centres across Denmark, using breast models to demonstrate how a lump may feel.
It also works with businesses through employee app access, talks, and practical demonstrations. Founded by Malene Brandt, HeyBOOB aims to make breast-health knowledge and practical tools more accessible, and keeps its app free with support from partners, funders, volunteers, and others
