About Ginko
Ginko is a family-focused technology brand helping children ages 6–12 develop healthier, more independent screen habits. Its approach turns device use into a deliberate routine: children tap in before using screens and tap out when their time is over. Rather than treating technology as the enemy, Ginko aims to make screen time a springboard for real-world curiosity and activities, helping kids move on by choice rather than force.
The company describes its approach as doctor-backed and uses family-first AI to identify children’s online interests and connect them with opportunities beyond the screen. Ginko says family data stays private, is anonymized, and is not shared, and that children’s inputs are not used to train its AI. The service is currently designed for iPhone and iPad, with an iOS-only experience. Ginko is launching a beta for selected founding families, who can apply for early access and help shape the product. Founded by digital wellness activist Larz May and integrative and addiction psychiatrist Dr. Raghu Appasani, Ginko aims to support families in building more balanced relationships with technology.
