Heyshott Bonfire

Heyshott Bonfire is a community-run annual celebration held on Heyshott Village Green near Midhurst, West Sussex. Organised by the Heyshott Bonfire Committee, the event brings villagers and visitors together for a traditional torchlit procession and a spectacular fireworks display. The 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, 14 November, with activities including torch sales, a bonfire-side gathering, food and drink, a Mr Punch performance, fireworks and a raffle. Hot dogs and soup are among the refreshments offered, and the Unicorn Inn supports the event by providing its premises and assistance.

The celebration is funded through public donations, with a suggested minimum contribution of £5 for adults and free admission for children. It is a cash-only event, with no facilities for card payments. The committee also welcomes volunteers to help prepare the bonfire and make torches. Heyshott Bonfire acknowledges the support of local residents, businesses and partners, including timber supplier WL West & Sons, Lavant Workwear, Selstar Fireworks and Cowdray Estate.
