About hgrc-nm.org
The Hispanic Genealogical Research Center of New Mexico (HGRC-NM) is a non-profit genealogy research society founded in 1993. Their mission is to encourage and nurture the interests of members in researching their Hispanic ancestors and history. The center offers an online pedigree database called the Great New Mexico Pedigree Database (GNMPD), which provides access to the family trees of Spanish explorers and their descendants, starting with Juan de Oñate y Salazar.
This database is available to the general public, with additional features for registered users. The HGRC-NM also provides instruction in Hispanic genealogical research methods and promotes awareness of Hispanic tradition, culture, and history. They facilitate the expansion and development of opportunities for genealogical and historical research, while promoting the utilization of genealogical collections, church and government records, and other materials for accurate and properly documented research.
The center publishes a monthly newsletter called Noticias and a quarterly journal called Herencia, and offers various genealogical and historical research resources to members and the public. To join the society or access their services, visit their website or contact them directly
