The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) provides student loan and scholarship programs for Texas residents eligible to pay in-state tuition. Through its HH Loans website, the Board shares information about available funding, loan payments, and state and federal loan forgiveness and repayment options. Its programs are intended to help students finance education and, in some cases, advance workforce or public-service goals.
The Future Occupations & Reskilling Workforce Advancement to Reach Demand (FORWARD) Loan Program serves students who are at least halfway through specified degree or certification programs, which must be completed within two years. The College Access Loan (CAL) offers alternative education loans to Texas students who cannot meet their cost of attendance. The Texas Armed Services Scholarship encourages recipients to complete a bachelor’s degree and pursue service in designated state or federal military organizations, or become commissioned officers in a U.S. armed service.
Established in 1965, THECB also provides practical resources for managing loans, including payment options and account information.
