About HIAP
Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP) is a vibrant initiative dedicated to supporting international arts professionals in their creative endeavors. Situated in the picturesque setting of Suomenlinna, HIAP offers residency opportunities that foster artistic research and interdisciplinary collaboration. The program not only provides a platform for artists to engage in transformative work but also promotes a rich dialogue within the arts community.
HIAP hosts various events throughout the year, such as Open Studios and exhibitions showcasing the work of resident artists. Upcoming events include “I have been cooking up an experience for me and you” by Polina Choni and “Gardens of the living and the dead” by Anastasiia Sviridenko. In addition, HIAP plays a role in the broader arts ecosystem by coordinating initiatives like the FAIRE Finnish Artist Residency Network and special solidarity residencies for those affected by conflict. Under the direction of Emma Beverley, HIAP continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Helsinki and support innovative artistic practices.
