The Hidden Gazebo Eatery is a mother-and-daughter-founded dining destination in Lemon Grove, San Diego, created by chefs Samia Khair and Noura Bishay. Operating as a reservation-only backyard sanctuary and California MEHKO, it offers an intimate alternative to a conventional restaurant, bringing Egyptian culinary heritage, storytelling, and hospitality together in a garden setting. Guests can choose a seven-course tasting menu, a more expansive 12-course journey, or a 24-course Hide and Seek Adventure, featuring courses discovered throughout the garden before a shared feast.
Menus draw on ancestral recipes, seasonal ingredients, slow-cooked flavors, and the chefs’ artistic presentation. The 12-course experience may include specialties such as Banned Soup, duck, and rabbit. During dinners, the chefs share the stories behind the dishes, creating a personal, multisensory experience.
The eatery also hosts private chef dinners and events, including birthdays, baby showers, bridal celebrations, and boutique weddings. Its culinary offerings grew from family cooking gatherings and a commitment to Egyptian traditions, connection, wellness, and sustainability
