Higgins Farm is a five-generation family farm in Middletown, Connecticut, with a history that began as a chicken farm before expanding into dairy. Today, the farm combines traditional farming values with a diversified operation focused on animal care and locally sourced products. Its activities include raising beef cattle, breeding and raising rodeo animals, and providing horse boarding. Higgins Farm says it is committed to proper animal husbandry and offers horses open pasture and spacious stalls for retirement care.
Customers can purchase the farm’s pasture-raised beef through its farm store, which is open Thursdays at the farm on Ridgewood Road. Store hours are 4–7 p.m. in summer and 4–6 p.m. in winter. The farm invites customers to buy local and learn more about its beef. Proud to be among the remaining farms in Middletown, Higgins Farm aims to care for its land and support future generations of farming.
