Highbury Jiu Jitsu Club is a Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and practical self-defence club based in Highbury, Islington, North London. Training takes place at the City of London Academy Highbury Grove. The club welcomes people of any size, weight or strength, and offers classes for juniors aged 8–17 and adults aged 18 and over. Beginners are welcome, and a first session is free.
Adult classes run on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm and Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9pm. Junior training is held on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7:30pm. Sessions cost £8 each; the club also lists a monthly option of £20 for juniors, alongside the per-session rate. The Wednesday juniors class is currently oversubscribed, with available places offered to people on the waiting list.
New members can begin by completing the online form and contacting the club to confirm their interest. Highbury Jiu Jitsu Club also shares an introductory video demonstrating Jiu-Jitsu techniques and provides club news and contact information for prospective members.
