About High Carbon Stock Approach
The High Carbon Stock Approach (HCSA) is a global not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to stopping commodity-driven deforestation in tropical rainforest landscapes while respecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities. It began in 2014 as a collaborative initiative between pulp and palm oil producers and environmental and social justice NGOs. HCSA works through a membership-led approach, where collaboration shapes the development of their methodology and organization.
The broad range of interests represented in their membership results in a powerful and collective impact in key sectors that drive tropical deforestation. HCSA offers various products and services including the HCSA Toolkit, which is a methodology for implementing no deforestation commitments, HCV-HCSA assessments, training providers, and a grievance mechanism. They work towards ensuring the highest standards of integrity and adhere to anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-slavery policies.
HCSA welcomes new members to join their efforts in combatting deforestation
