High Desert Doberman Rescue

High Desert Doberman Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based animal rescue dedicated to helping homeless, displaced, abandoned, and shelter Dobermans in New Mexico and the broader Southwest. The organization also assists other dogs in need, with a mission to give deserving animals the opportunity for safer, happier lives. Founded by Anthony Martinez, known as Papa Dobie, the rescue draws on his experience in Doberman and animal rescue.

High Desert Doberman Rescue provides adoption and fostering opportunities, coordinating meet-and-greets by appointment because its dogs live in foster homes. Prospective adopters can review available dogs, submit an adoption application, and arrange a visit. The organization also welcomes foster caregivers and volunteers, helping supporters find ways to contribute that suit their availability and interests.

Donations help fund the rescue’s work, including costly medical care for special-needs cases. Supporters can give financially, volunteer their time, foster a dog, or share the organization’s mission. Based in Belen, New Mexico, High Desert Doberman Rescue invites community members to get involved and help dogs find permanent homes.
