The High Desert Fly-In is a community aviation event held at Winslow’s historic airport in Winslow, Arizona. It brings together pilots, local residents, and visitors for a morning centered on airplanes, local history, food, and community connection. The event welcomes attendees from beyond the aviation community, offering an opportunity to explore the airport and learn about its historical significance. The website provides information for visitors and pilots, along with history and media resources, ways to support the fly-in, and contact details for inquiries.
The 2022 event was scheduled for Saturday, September 17, from 8 a.m. to noon. As part of its community support, the fly-in invited attendees to become “Fly-In Angels” by bringing pet food to donate to Winslow Animal Control. This initiative connects the gathering with a local cause and encourages participants to contribute while attending. Overall, the High Desert Fly-In combines aviation, heritage, hospitality, and community involvement in a welcoming event at Winslow’s historic airport.
