Highland Carbon is a UK-based, purpose-driven carbon and nature restoration business founded by a zoologist with international conservation experience. The company supplies carbon offset units to business clients, including Pending Issuance Units and certified units under the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code. Its UK portfolio also spans soil, blue carbon and nature restoration frameworks, alongside tree sponsorship and newer Nature Credits from rewilding initiatives.
For international offsetting, Highland Carbon sources credits carrying quality marks such as Gold Standard, Verified Carbon Standard, BioCarbon, Universal Carbon, UNFCCC-CDM and ACR. It can create bespoke blended solutions combining nature-based projects and renewable energy, tailored to clients’ budgets and requirements. The company emphasizes transparency, traceability and biodiversity benefits, and supports clients with material for ESG and sustainability reporting, public relations, investor and employee communications, and customer engagement.
Highland Carbon works with projects that aim to support climate action, habitat recovery and local communities. Its approach includes directing most sales revenue to projects while taking a modest commission, and hiring local people where possible to help deliver restoration work.
