Highland Wildlife Rescue

Highland Wildlife Rescue is a charitable, licensed wildlife rehabilitation centre based in Brora, serving the Scottish Highlands and Islands. It is the only charitable licensed centre in the region that caters for all native wildlife species and birds. Its mission is to nurture Highland nature by helping injured, sick, or otherwise vulnerable native wildlife, with the aim of achieving a successful release wherever possible.

The organisation operates throughout the year, responding to wildlife emergencies and providing general wildlife advice from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Callers are asked to contact the centre before bringing in an animal, as professional guidance may show that admission is unnecessary or that urgent veterinary care is the most appropriate option. Highland Wildlife Rescue works with veterinary professionals and national welfare organisations and is an associate member of the British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council. A volunteer transporter network helps it serve communities across the Highlands and Islands. Supporters can contribute through donations, fundraising, volunteering, and the organisation’s online shop.
