Hilkka Salokankaan Säätiö

Hilkka Salokangas Foundation is a student-support foundation based in Pori, Finland. Established in 2001 in accordance with the terms of Hilkka Salokangas’s will, it operates as she wished and reflects her values. The foundation’s purpose is to support students and encourage education by providing study grants, scholarships and interest-free student loans.

When allocating assistance, the foundation considers applicants’ aptitude for languages, achievement in language studies and financial need. Its grants are intended for students who meet the relevant criteria, and eligible students may also apply for support directly. The foundation’s board decides on the distribution of grants each spring.

Hilkka Salokangas was a highly respected teacher. Her approach to education went beyond sharing knowledge: she sought to foster thought, judgment, questioning, critical thinking and curiosity. The foundation carries this educational spirit forward by helping students pursue their studies and supporting learning in a practical way. Information about applying for a grant and contacting the foundation is available through its website.
